Non-Fiction Highlights

Historical non-fiction books:

Safe Havens by the Sea was published at the end of 2020 and preserved the legacy of a series of convalescent homes started in the 1800s. The mission of the organisation was to give the opportunity for a break at the seaside to destitute children, mothers & babies, and later men, residing in polluted East London. Providing the Jam was published towards the end of 2018. It explores the history of a visually impaired community and those that supported them. It contains the stories of many extraordinary people. It also charts the changing attitudes towards disability throughout the 20th Century.
